Crete is a village in Will County, Illinois, United States. It is a far south suburb of Chicago , 30 miles from the Loop and only 6 miles from the Indiana border. The population was 8,465 at the 2020 census.
Regan was involved with the insurance business. He was also worked as a supervisor for the Illinois Department of Insurance. Regan served on the Will County Board and was a vice-chair of the county board. Regan served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1985 to 1993 and was a Republican. John William Chapman (September 8, 1894 – August 17, 1978) was the 37th Lieutenant Governor of Illinois. Chapman was born in Crete, Nebraska September 8, 1894. Chapman attended Public school in Chicago. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1915 and received a Juris Doctor from University of Chicago Law School in 1917.
Crete Township is located in Will County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 23,774 and it contained 10,286 housing units. [ 2 ] Washington Township was formed from a portion of Crete.
