Effective April 1, 2022, Act 193 of the 2021 Regular Legislative Session became law. Accordingly, the license renewal period is changing, beginning this year. The new renewal period for 2023 licenses is as follows: Timely Renewal Period: August 1, 2022 – September 30, 2022. First Delinquent Renewal Period: October 1, 2022 – November 15, 2022.

You must comply with all application procedures required by the LREC. You must pass the real estate salesperson licensing examination. You must be supervised by a licensed real estate broker and provide proof of errors and omissions insurance prior to license issuance.
An inactive licensee cannot practice real estate, which includes the collection of referral fees. Inactive licenses must be renewed annually. Inactive real estate licensees are not required to fulfill any education requirements to renew their inactive license.
