Hannon House (727 North Michigan): The Hannon House is a two-story Greek Revival structure. It was constructed in the early 1850s at the corner of Michigan and Hancock Streets. The area around Saginaw was first settled in 1820. The section east of the river was established in about 1850, and as industry moved into the surrounding timber lands, the village of East Saginaw grew tremendously. It was granted a city charter in 1859, and by the 1870s, fifty mills were operating along the eastern bank of the river.
