The Indian Foreign Service (Branch B), or IFS (B), has one cadre: the General cadre. Recruitments are made through separate competitive exams, named Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE), conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). For distinction, the IFS is mostly referred to as IFS (Group A) by the media and general public.

In India, the Civil Service is the collection of civil servants of the government who constitute the permanent executive branch of the country. [1] [2] This includes servants in the All India Services, the Central Civil Services, and various State Civil Services.
The modern Indian Forest Service was established in 1966, after independence, under the All India Services Act 1951, for protection, conservation, and regeneration of forest resources. India has an area of 635,400 km designated as forests, about 19.32 percent of the country.
The West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) (Paśchimboṅgo Nāgarik Sēbā), commonly known as W.B.C.S. (Exe.), is the civil service of the Indian state of West Bengal.The Public Service Commission of West Bengal conducts competitive examinations for W.B.C.S. (Exe.) and other similar posts in three phases each year: Preliminary, Mains, and Personality Test.
Candidates are required to apply on the UPSC website. The application fee for general-category male candidates is 200. No fee is required for female and reserved-category applicants. Stage 1 of the test is conducted during the first week of January; Stage 2 is conducted in June and July across India.
