Eastsound (not to be confused with East Sound, which is the body of water adjoining Eastsound) is an unincorporated community on Orcas Island in San Juan County, Washington, United States. Eastsound is the largest population center on Orcas Island, the second-most populated (after San Juan Island) and physically largest of the San Juan Islands.
The site of the Green Dragon Colony, but not its buildings, was listed as a San Diego Historical Landmark in 1973 (HRBS 84). The only other designated site in La Jolla was the La Jolla Woman's Club. In 1986, four of the remaining cottages were designated as historic by the City of San Diego Historical Site Board.
Orcas Village is home to the Orcas Hotel which was built 1904 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982. [4] The town also has a small public dock, a private marina, and parking for islanders who commute off-island by ferry. Doe Bay sits on the south-eastern shore of Orcas Island and is home to Doe Bay Resort and Retreat, where the guest rooms include cabins, yurts, campsites, and a treehouse. [2] Doe Bay is about 19.1 miles (30.7 km) by road from Orcas Village, about 11 miles (18 km) by road from Eastsound, and a short 3.6 miles (5.8 km) from Olga.

Today he is primarily remembered for Moran Brothers Co. shipbuilders, his work as mayor to rebuild after the Great Seattle Fire, and his large estate on Orcas Island, which became a resort and later Moran State Park.
