The Aitken Barn on the Little Salmon River prominently visible from the U.S. Highway 95 near Riggins in Idaho County, Idaho was built in 1914. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

In 1997, a brand new indoor stadium was built in conjunction with the Ford Idaho Center , located just northeast of exit 38 on Interstate 84 .
The park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) between 1934 and 1942 on about 12,000 acres (49 km 2) of land donated to the State of Tennessee in 1933 by the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company. CCC crews built hiking trails, a recreation lodge, a ranger station, five rustic cabins, and a 12-acre (4.9 ha) lake known as Arch Lake.
