Malone Road. The Malone Road (from Irish Maigh Lón 'plain of lambs') [1] is a radial road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, leading from the university quarter southwards to the affluent suburbs of Malone and Upper Malone, each a separate electoral ward.
Malone Park is a private avenue in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It forms a conservation area. [1] The majority of the houses are Victorian and have large grounds surrounding them. There is a gate lodge at each end of the avenue. The Lisburn Road end is inaccessible to vehicular traffic as is the Balmoral Avenue gate.
It is also an electoral ward for Belfast City Council, part of the Laganbank district electoral area. [1] As part of the Queen's Quarter, it is the location for prominent attractions such as the Ulster Museum and Botanic Gardens. [2] [3] The area is located on Stranmillis Road, with Malone Road to the west and the River Lagan to the east.

The city is split between two traditional Counties by the River Lagan , with those townlands north of the river generally in County Antrim , while those on the southern bank are generally part of County Down .

It was created on 10 September 1883 for James Corry, Conservative Member of Parliament for Belfast and Armagh Mid. The second Baronet was a Director of the Cunard Steamship Company . The Corry family is of Scottish descent but settled near Newtownards , County Down in the early 17th century.
Belfast Harlequins is a multi-sports club located off the Malone Road in south Belfast, Northern Ireland. The club name provides the overall umbrella for rugby union, men's and ladies' hockey, and squash. The club is associated on and off the field with Methodist College Belfast (MCB).
St John's Church Malone is an Anglican church in Malone Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is in the Diocese of Connor. This is a Victorian church built in Gothic style. Its Irish stained glass windows are considered to be worth a visit. It was built 1893 - 1895, the nave was built in 1905. [1] [2]
