Pennsylvania is the eighth-largest wine producing state in the country. The climate is mild compared to surrounding states, with the moderating effects of Lake Erie to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. One hundred and nineteen wineries [2] are located in all parts of the state, including five designated American Viticultural Areas. [1]
Chaddsford Winery is a Pennsylvania winery located in the Brandywine Valley, in Pennsbury Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1982, [ 1 ] [ 2 ] and is one of the largest wineries in the state, [ 3 ] producing more than 30,000 cases annually.
In 1842, Charles Carpenter (son-in-law of Datus Kelley) of Norwich, Connecticut, began growing and harvesting grapes for wine on Kelleys Island. By the early 20th century, the island was annually producing 500,000 gallons of wine per year. [13] The small village grew quickly, and soon a library and post office were erected.
The Jean Bonnet Tavern, also known as Old Forks Inn and Bonnet's Tavern, is an historic inn and restaurant that is located just outside Bedford, Pennsylvania on U.S. Highway 30, at the junction with Pennsylvania Route 31. It can be seen from the Pennsylvania Turnpike. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. [1]
A handful of wineries are in western New Jersey's Warren Hills Viticultural Area. [10] Part of the Central Delaware Valley Viticultural Area is in New Jersey, but no New Jersey wineries are currently in this viticultural area. [11] New Jersey wineries produce wine from more than 90 varieties of grapes, and from over 25 other fruits. [7] [10]
The historic Dahlonega Square is a popular destination, with gift shops, restaurants, art galleries and studios, and wine-tasting rooms. In 2015, Senator Steve Gooch introduced Georgia Senate Resolution 125 officially recognizing Lumpkin County as the Wine Tasting Room Capital of Georgia. The city's local festivals draw many visitors.

The brewer began distributing the flagship beer again in 2005, utilizing regional breweries. In 2011, the Hoster Brewing Company moved to a 26,000-square-foot space in the Near East Side. [3] The company will open a brewery and taproom near the John Glenn Columbus International Airport in June 2023. [5]
