Mount Cooke is within the Monadnocks Conservation Park [ 2 ] and administered by the Department of Environment and Conservation .

The Bibbulmun Track passes around the edge of the bay, coming down long steps from the steep hills above Cosy Corner and following the beach around the curve of the bay and across the mouth of Torbay Inlet along Muttonbird Beach to near Shelter Island.
