Palam is part of South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency (Earlier it was under erstwhile Outer Delhi parliamentary constituency) along with nine other Assembly segments, namely, Bijwasan, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, Chhatarpur, Deoli, Kalkaji, Tughlakabad, Badarpur and Mehrauli.
Palam is situated 20 km southwest of the New Delhi City Centre. [6] It is surrounded by Delhi Cantt, Dwarka and Janakpuri. Palam is part of the "Dwarka Sub-Division" of the South West Delhi District. [7] Palam is broadly divided into Raj Nagar and Sadh Nagar. Raj Nagar is divided into 2 parts: Raj Nagar-1 and Raj Nagar Part-2.
Dwarka is divided into three Assembly Constituencies i.e. AC-34 Matiala, AC-36 Bijwasan, AC-37 Palam. It is also divided into two Parliamentary constituencies i.e. West Delhi and South Delhi. The area of Dwarka Sub-city as per DDA records is 5648 Hectares. The population density is around 160–200 per H A. Road length in Dwarka is 396 km.

Laxmi Bai, meaning "city of Lakshmibai", is named for the Rani (queen) of the Maratha-ruled Jhansi State in India, which is now a province of modern Uttar Pradesh state. She fought for independence from the British Raj during the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and died in combat. [1] [2]
