The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a public research university located in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. [2] [3] It is among the universities owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria and was founded in 1970. [4] The school currently has two campuses with fifteen faculties including a central library called the John Harris Library. [5]

Osayuki Godwin Oshodin, (9 August 1950 – 29 May 2022) [1] was a Nigerian academic who was the vice-chancellor of the University of Benin from 2009 to 2014. [2] He was a professor of health education and published several journals and books concerning health and education.

Lilian Imuetinyan Salami (born 8 August 1956) is a Nigerian academic who was the vice-chancellor of the University of Benin between 2 December 2019 to 2 December 2024. [1] [2] She is the second female vice-chancellor of the university after Grace Alele-Williams in 1985.
