Kansas City's Hotel Savoy was built in 1888. It was built by the owners of the Arbuckle Coffee Company. In 1903 the original hotel was remodeled and the west wing was added featuring the Savoy Grill dining room. The Savoy Grill was the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri, until it temporarily closed in 2016.
One of the appetizers is a seafood tower. Entrees include lamb chops, steaks, lobster, glazed salmon and jerk chicken. It also will have weekend brunch.

In the 1950s and through the early 1970s, it was visited by fans and players visiting Municipal Stadium, home to the Kansas City Athletics (1955–1967), Kansas City Chiefs (1963–1971) and Kansas City Royals (1969–1972). The stadium was located five blocks south of the restaurant until being razed in 1976.
