Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (IATA: AZO, ICAO: KAZO, FAA LID: AZO) is a county-owned public airport in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, US, 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of Downtown Kalamazoo. [1] The airport is located approximately 20 miles (32 km) west of the city of Battle Creek.
The airport is close to freeways I-69 (exits 84, 85), I-96 (exit 90), I-496 (exit 3), and U.S. Highway 127 (exit 82B). From downtown Lansing, traffic can follow Business Loop I-96 to the airport. Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) Bus Route 14 runs between the airport and downtown
The Kalamazoo Transportation Center is an Intermodal train and bus station in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. [3] It is the second-busiest Amtrak station in Michigan, after Ann Arbor. [4] The Kalamazoo Transportation Center serves as the main hub for Kalamazoo Metro local buses, and also serves intercity buses operated by Greyhound and Indian Trails.

The airport opened in 1925 and was owned by W.K. Kellogg, who donated $60,000 to purchase the land option and pay for airport improvements and equipment over the first few years. The city of Kalamazoo began operation of the bus system on January 1, 1967, retaining most of the staff of Kalamazoo City Lines. At an intersection south of W. K. Kellogg Airport, BL I-94/M-37 turns easterly to run on the southern side of the airport. At the airport's southeaster corner, the business loop intersects M-96 and turns northward, merging onto M-96. BL I-94/M-37/M-96 follows Helmer Road on the eastern edge of the airport to Dickman Road.
Indian Trails' daily scheduled bus service is part of Michigan's Intercity Bus System recognized by the Michigan Department of Transportation. In November 2006, Indian Trails, in partnership with Okemos Travel, launched the Michigan Flyer, an express service connecting East Lansing, Jackson, and Ann Arbor with Detroit Metro Airport.
