In 1914 the company succeeded in creating their first Western style dinner set, called "Sedan", to compete with European porcelain companies. [3] [4] Nippon Toki wares were mostly aimed at the European Market. This forerunner of the modern Noritake Company was founded in the village of Noritake, a small suburb near Nagoya, Japan.
The garden was constructed on the former Noritake factory grounds and exhibits the company, its history and products. [2] In the various showrooms visitors can observe the creation process of porcelain or participate in workshops. The museum exhibits old Noritake pieces, such as vases, jars and dishes from the early 1900s.

Jewel started using Hall teapots as premiums, and then expanded the promotion to include its own line of distinctive dinnerware and kitchenware. New pieces were introduced by Hall China for Jewel until 1980.
