I made an object on fusion 360 the dimensions are 120mm long 9mm on one end and 18mm on the other end a cylinder object. when I export to Cura slicer my dimensions are wrong I keep getting 35mm x 35mm x 120mm . only one dimension is correct I added the barbarian add-on still no luck
Often I work on models have sections of the same body that needs to be stronger (e.g. around screw hole) and my slicer software (Cura) allow setting different infill levels of different objects in the same print. The problem is that if I select all bodies in Fusion and select '3D print', they are exported to Cura as a single object.
If you wish to add more parts, leave Cura open (using single instance) and repeat steps 2 and 3. Note: In either application, parts will be exported to the same location in both slicers, so be sure to move your parts around to locate and reveal all expected parts present in the slicer app or on the virtual build platform!
Hello! I have a 3D file I've been trying to print. It is a combination of files downloaded from the Internet and has been combined and altered in Meshmixer. All objects are combined, and were made solid, then hallow. Meshmixer's analysis does not detect any problems with the object. The object is then exported as an OBJ file and printed using Cura. Cura accepts the file ...
Anyone, I created a simple cylinder in Autodesk Inventor 2018 and exported as CAD format, stl file, into CURA for slicing. The cylinder shows up faceted, flat sides, not round. It will even print that way. This never happened before. How can I resolve to make a round cylinder? Thanks
Simply3d is just a slicer like Fusion 360 or Cura (from what I understand). In Simply3d, you would import your model file (STL or other) and then slice the model and get your code. I personally use Cura, but we all have our preferences. If you posted from Fusion to get your G-code, that should be all you need to send to the printer.
Like most 3D print utilities, Cura only supports mesh files. This is confirmed by their website - "Ultimaker Cura works with STL, OBJ, X3D or 3MF file formats out-of-the-box." To take a Fusion design into Cura, you will need to convert it to STL format using the techniques at this link. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any ...
Changing the view as mentioned above shows it correctly but after exporting Cura now shows the ruined model. I have attached a zip file with the original file (Spinner_50mm_Back_v1.09.stl), the exported file from MeshMixer (Plane Base w Mesh Supports.obj) and a picture of the two in Cura.
