Parkville is a city in Platte County, Missouri, United States and is a part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The population was 7,177 at the 2020 census. [3] According to the 2022 census, the city is estimated to have a population of 8,541. [4] Parkville is known for its antique shops, art galleries, and historic downtown.

Kelsey Ann Smith (May 3, 1989 – June 2, 2007) was a woman from Overland Park, Kansas who disappeared on June 2, 2007, and was murdered that evening. The story was featured in the international media, including on America's Most Wanted, [2] before her body was found near a lake in Missouri on June 6, 2007.
Washington Chapel C.M.E. Church is a historic Christian Methodist Episcopal church located at 1137 West Street in Parkville, Platte County, Missouri.It was built in 1907, and is a two-story, rectangular, Late Gothic Revival style native limestone building.
Built in 1931 by Parkville, Missouri banker and developer Emmett Breen at the junction of US 71 and US 71 Bypass, now Missouri Route 291, the red brick and tile Tavern included a popular restaurant and ballroom. Back behind the Tavern was the Tourist Court— two small cabins connected by two garages.
