A mural is painted directly onto a wall whereas Guernica is oil on canvas. Admittedly a very large canvas, but still highly movable. Indeed it was sent on tour during the civil war including to Whitechapel in London, then found a semi-permanent home in New York before returning to Spain after democracy was re-established.
