The fifth generation of the Ford F-Series is a line of pickup trucks and commercial trucks that were produced by Ford from the 1967 to 1972 model years. Built on the same platform as the fourth generation F-Series , the fifth generation had sharper styling lines, a larger cab, and expanded engine options.
Third generation trucks were built in Brazil as the F-100, F-350, and F-600 from 1962 until 1971, featuring the 272 and 292 cu.in. Y-Block V8. OHV sixes and V8s were the same ones as used in Ford cars of the era. This was the last generation of the panel van.
Autolite 4300A Carburetor. The Autolite 4300 was a four-barrel (four venturi) carburetor manufactured by Autolite in multiple variants from 1967 through 1974. Used by both Ford and AMC, it was produced as an emissions-compliant replacement for the previous Autolite 4100 model, and was superseded by the Motorcraft 4350.
1973–1975 Ford F-100 XLT. For 1973, a new model was offered: The heavy duty F-350 V8. This was a new heavy-duty pickup made with contractors and camping enthusiasts in mind. It rode on a longer wheelbase than an F-100 or F-250 (140 in (3,556 mm) vs. 133 in (3,378 mm)) but had the same overall length.
The Ford 427 block was closer dimensionally to the smaller 392 cu. in. first generation Chrysler FirePower Hemi; the Ford FE's bore spacing was 4.63 in (117.6 mm) compared to the Chrysler 392's 4.5625 in (115.9 mm). The Ford FE's deck height of 10.17 in (258.3 mm) was lower than that of the Chrysler 392 at 10.87 in (276.1 mm).
