Paul B. Johnson State Park is a public recreation area on the shores of Geiger Lake, located off U.S. Highway 49 in McLaurin, Mississippi, 12 miles (19 km) south of Hattiesburg. The state park is named after Paul B. Johnson , the forty-sixth governor of Mississippi .
A campground store reopened in late 2010 (after being closed following storm damage from Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis in 2004 and 2005, respectively). There are no sewer hookups at the campsites; however, a dump station is available. The campground is located approximately 1.5 miles (2 km) from Fort Pickens itself.
The camp has five campsites, a dining hall, health lodge, chapel, maintenance building, trading post, field sports range, two cabins, a campfire ring, a camp master cabin and a home occupied by the full time camp Ranger and his family. Camp Soule is used for short-term camping, family camping, training, day camps and various other activities.
