Caspian Lake is surrounded by cottages, many available for summer rental. The lake is used for boating, sailing and fishing. There is a public beach at the south end, in town, with a boat ramp. There are two inns in town, Highland Lodge, which rents rooms and cottages, and Lakeview Inn, which holds group events. Ice fishing is popular.
Juniper Hill Farm, also known historically as Juniper Hill Inn and the Maxwell Evarts House, is a historic estate and mansion house on Juniper Hill Road in Windsor, Vermont. Built in 1902 by Maxwell Evarts , it is a large and elaborate example of Colonial Revival architecture .
The hotel, which opened in 1874, became a popular destination for summer outings. The hotel closed in 1925. The carriage road was washed away in the flood of 1927 and the tower was destroyed by the hurricane of 1938. The hotel itself eventually burned. The state of Vermont acquired the summit land in 1988.
