The Oki Islands (隠岐諸島, Oki-shotō, or 隠岐の島 Oki-no-shima, 隠岐群島 Oki-guntō) is an archipelago in the Sea of Japan, the islands of which are administratively part of Oki District, Shimane Prefecture, Japan. The islands have a total area of 346.1 square kilometres (133.6 sq mi).
Oki Airport was first opened in August 1965 with a 1200-meter runway for irregularly scheduled services to Yonago Airport. Irregularly scheduled services to Izumo Airport began in July 1966. The airport received its Class-3 certification from the Japanese government in July 1968, permitting regularly scheduled passenger services to those locations.
