Fort Drum is a U.S. Army military reservation and a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, near the western border of northern New York, United States. [3] The brigade was activated at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, New York as part of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) on 2 July 1988.
