The Old Police Station is a Grade II listed building in Bath, Somerset, England. Completed in 1865, to a design by Charles Edward Davis, it stands in Orange Grove, adjacent (to the southwest) to Bath's Empire Hotel, although it pre-dates that building by around fifty years. The police station opened on 19 January 1866. [1]
As a result of the Act the following borough police forces were created within the current Avon and Somerset Police area: Bath City Police (1836), Bristol Constabulary (1836), Bridgwater Borough Police (1836), Wells City Police (1836), Glastonbury Borough Police, Chard Borough Police (1839), and Yeovil Borough Police (1854). The Bath City Police was a police force responsible for policing the County Borough of Bath in Somerset, England. It existed between 1836 and 1967. [ 1 ] The Bath City Police, as an organization, was formed as a result of Municipal Corporations Act 1835 , though it did not begin commencing duties until 15 February 1836. [ 2 ]

Somerset and Bath Constabulary was a short-lived police force in England which existed from 1967 to 1974. It was responsible for policing the administrative county of Somerset and the county borough of Bath. [1] The force was formed following the amalgamation of Somerset Constabulary and Bath City Police on 1 January 1967. [2]
