Northlake Mall is a two-story modern shopping mall located eight miles (13 km) north of center city Charlotte, North Carolina off Interstate 77 at exit 18, Harris Blvd, and off Interstate 485 at exit 21, also at Harris Blvd. The mall was owned by Starwood Capital Group and is currently managed by Spinoso Real Estate Group.
The sole current anchor store is Macy's (formerly Davison's) which will close in early 2025. [3] Former anchors include JCPenney, Kohl's, and Sears.Kohl's closed in 2016; [4] its location was originally Atlanta's fourth Parisian in 1994, after both Town Center at Cobb and Phipps Plaza in 1992 and Gwinnett Place Mall in 1993.
Northlake Mall, which sits off Harris Boulevard near Interstate 77, opened in 2005 by owner Taubman Center Inc. In 2014, Starwood Capital investment bought the complex for $248 million.
In 1989 shops were allowed to be open on Sundays in sparsely populated areas. In the autumn of 1994 the law was extended to apply to the conurbanations i.e. densely populated areas, but only in December and on six specifically designated Sundays. In 1997 it was legislated that the grocery shops could be open on Sundays during the whole summer.
