BK Arena (formerly known as Kigali Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Kigali, Rwanda, used mostly for basketball and volleyball matches. Built and finished in 2019, it hosts sporting events and concerts. It is the biggest indoor arena in East Africa and is located next to the Amahoro Stadium. [1]
For a fourth consecutive season, the playoffs were hosted in the BK Arena in Kigali. The BK Arena hosts important games, as well as the finals series. The league games in the regular season are usually stated in the Lycée de Kigali's indoor hall, which can seat 1,500 spectators, after it was revamped by FERWABA and NBA Africa in 2023. [5] Other games are played at Kepler University's indoor hall.
The finals are played in a pre-determined venue, from 2021 to 2023 this was the BK Arena (formerly the Kigali Arena) in Kigali as the BAL agreed with the Rwandan Ministry of Sports. Later, the BAL and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) agreed to host the finals of 2024, 2026 and 2028 as well. [7]
