Worldwide distribution of country calling codes. Regions are coloured by first digit. Telephone country codes, but also sometimes referred to as "country dial-in codes", or historically "international subscriber dialing" (ISD) codes in the U.K., are telephone number dialing prefixes for reaching subscribers in foreign countries or areas via international telecommunication networks.
Area code, subaddress and name are optional; the latter can carry extension number for direct inward dialing and calling party name, as used by ISDN/E1/T1 telecommunication protocols. Dialing rules are used to transform the canonical phone number into a dialable calling sequence for the modem , depending on the user's location.
Peru uses 2-digit area codes followed by 6-digit subscriber numbers outside of Lima. In Lima the area code is "1" and the subscriber number has seven digits, divided XXX XXXX. The "trunk 0" is often used, especially for numbers outside Lima. For example, a phone number in Arequipa might be written (054) XX-XXXX.
Mobile phones use geographic area codes (two digits): after that, all numbers assigned to mobile service have nine digits, starting with 6, 7, 8 or 9 (example: 55 15 99999–9999). 90 is not possible, because collect calls start with this number.
For example, if your number is +15554242, your SIP address is sip:4242@555telco.example.net; if your number is +15551234, your SIP address is sip:1234@555telco.example.net. The following Figure illustrates how ENUM works by giving an example: Subscriber A sets out to call Subscriber B. Application scenario for Voice over IP (VoIP) with ENUM.
From other countries the international call prefix used in the originating country must be dialled before 234 + 84 + six digit phone number. For example, a call placed from Mexico to Port Harcourt would be dialled as 00 + 234 + 84 + six digit phone number. [4]
