  2. Why 64bit consoles? - AnandTech Forums

    forums.anandtech.com/threads/why-64bit-consoles.1745314

The 128-bit CPU is the first of its kind in the world, integrated with the state-of-the-art 0.15 micron process technology on a single LSI. The new CPU incorporates two 64-bit integer units (IU) with a 128-bit SIMD multimedia command unit, three independent floating point vector calculation units (FPU, VU0, VU1), an MPEG 2 decoder circuit ...

  3. Address/Data lines - AnandTech Forums

    forums.anandtech.com/threads/address-data-lines.1405611

The address lines is still limited by the processor's address space (or rather, the memory controller's addressing capabilities). However, the data lines can be almost as wide as you want to make it. For instance, on the P4, the data bus is 64-bits wide. On Opteron, it's 128-bits wide.

"Actually Pariah... I think he's right. Anad mentioned it was a 64 or even 32 bit (I forget) CPU that had 128 bit registers. Which hardly makes the CPU 128 bit." From Anand's article: "The Emotion Engine (EE) is a 128-bit MIPS processor that operates at 300MHz. The idea of the EE being a 128-bit processor came about because it features 128-bit ...

I always think of databus connections as a highway. The number of bits is the number of lanes and the frequency is how fast the cars can move on the highway. So, if you have a video card memory bus that is 128-bit, you have 128 lanes of traffic. If that video card memory bus operates at 1000mhz, then you have 128 lanes of cars moving at 1000mhz ...

  6. Whats the difference between a 64bit and 128bit graphics card?

    forums.anandtech.com/threads/whats-the-difference-between-a-64bit-and-128bit...

128-bit has twice the memory bandwidth. You need memory bandwidth to move large amounts of data. Large amounts of data depends on the textures of the game, new games tend to have a large amount of textures, also if you use Anti-Aliasing and how much of it, also the same with Anisotropic Filtering and how high your resolution is set at.

Due to wider bandwidth gap, Apple will likely use 192-bit LPDDR6 for future M4 Pro while reserving 288-bit and 384-bit LPDDR6 for flagship model, namely M4 Max/Ultra. DDR6-9600 @ FY2028 ? Unfortunately, there may be some delays on DDR6 DIMM/SO-DIMM according to Samsung:

POWERCOLOR Radeon HD 3650 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 - $30.00 plus shipping AR. That is the best deal going at the moment for $30.00 + shipping. As for the CPU cooler, I would just reuse the stock OEM cooler after applying fresh thermal compound/paste (clean the old stuff off first).
