Hackley School is a private college preparatory school located in Tarrytown, New York, and is a member of the Ivy Preparatory School League. Founded in 1899 by a wealthy philanthropist, Frances Hackley, the school was intended to be a Unitarian alternative to Episcopal boarding schools.
The old school was rechristened Central Junior High School. The closing of portions of two city streets created a Central Campus. One of the first student projects of 1926 was a student-led bond drive to raise funds to build a stadium to the east of Hackley Field. Opened in the fall of 1927, Hackley Stadium continues to serve the district.
At the Incarnate Word High School San Antonio, Texas classes run on a modular schedule. Each day is broken down into 17 time-periods called "mods." Mods are 20 minutes long, except the lunch mods, which are 26 minutes. The schedule is on a two-week cycle. There are no bells between mods, and students are responsible for arriving to classes on time.
