Fort Cooper State Park is a 710-acre historic site in Inverness, Florida, United States. It is located two miles (3 km) south of Inverness, off of U.S. Hwy. 41 on South Old Floral City Road. On June 13, 1972, it was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places .

Prior to 1971, Stump Pass Beach State Park was known as Port Charlotte Beach State Recreation Area. On May 10, 1970 the park was transferred to the state of Florida from Charlotte county. The park opened to the public in 1971 with no services. Picnic pavilions, a boardwalk, outdoor showers, and restrooms were added to the park in 2000. [3]

The John's Pass Bridge is a twin-span double-leaf bascule bridge that crosses the John's Pass, connecting Madeira Beach and Treasure Island, Florida. The bascule bridge carries Gulf of Mexico Boulevard, part of SR 699. The southbound span of the Johns Pass Bridge was built in 2008, and the northbound span was built in 2010. [4] [5]
