Lagoa da Conceição (Portuguese: [laˈɡoɐ dɐ kõsejˈsɐ̃w]) is a district located next to a large lagoon of the same name [1] near the center of Florianópolis, capital city of the state of Santa Catarina, located in the south of Brazil. Lagoa da Conceição combines beaches, dunes, hills, and the biggest lagoon on the island.

The Ilha Grande mangroves ecoregion (WWF ID: NT1415) covers a series of disconnected salt-water and brackish mangrove forests along the southeastern coast of Brazil on the South Atlantic Ocean. The ecoregion is defined as covering the mangroves found between the Paraíba do Sul River in the north to Florianópolis in the south.

The village is set on the mouth of a tidewater channel that flows in and out of the Island's sizable lagoon, the Lagoa da Conceição. The small village of Santo António de Lisboa (Saint Anthony of Lisbon) is an example of colonial period architecture and in Ribeirão da Ilha, the oldest part of the capital, the inhabitants speak in an accent closer to the Azorean dialect of the first settlers. In Ribeirão da Ilha is the church of Our Lady of Lapa do Ribeirão, built in 1806.
