Temescal Canyon High School is a public high school part of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. Though it is located in Lake Elsinore, California, it also serves the areas of Canyon Lake and Horsethief Canyon. The school was opened for the 1991–1992 school year, graduating its first class in 1994.
It was formed on July 1, 1989, when the Elsinore Union High School District merged with the Lake Elsinore School District (elementary). [2] The Lake Elsinore Unified School District is the 8th largest school district (by student population) in Riverside County [3] and encompasses an area of 131.78 square miles. [4]
Lakeside, Temescal Canyon, and Elsinore are the three main high schools of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. A very small portion of northeastern Lake Elsinore in the Canyon Hills subdivision [citation needed] is located in the Menifee Union School District for grades K-8, and Perris Union High School District for grades 9–12
