Sheppard West (formerly Downsview) is a subway station on Line 1 Yonge–University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The station, which is located near the intersection of Sheppard Avenue West and Allen Road , opened in 1996 in what was then the City of North York , and the commuter parking lot opened in July 2005.

Originally slated to be called Sheppard West, [7] the station was referred to by that name throughout its construction. [8] However, in 2010, approval was granted for the station to be named Downsview Park, contingent upon successful negotiations between the Toronto Transit Commission, the City of Toronto, and Downsview Park regarding property acquisition.

Line 4 Sheppard is the newest and shortest rapid transit line of the Toronto subway system, operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). [2] It opened on November 22, 2002, and has five stations along 5.5 kilometres (3.4 mi) of track, which is built without any open sections in the district of North York along Sheppard Avenue East between Yonge Street and Don Mills Road. The subway system encompasses three lines and 70 stations on 70.5 kilometres (43.8 mi) of route. [2] As of 2024, 55 of the 70 stations are accessible, with plans originally set to ensure all stations were accessible by 2025; [3] however, in September 2024, it was reported this goal would not be met until 2026. Sheppard West station is located at the corner of Sheppard and Allen Road, and Downsview Park station is located between Keele Street and Allen Road. The extension of the Line 2 Bloor-Danforth subway will have the line terminate at Sheppard Avenue, where a future extension of Line 4 could meet with it in the future.
