Wanderer above the Sea of Fog [a] is a painting by German Romanticist artist Caspar David Friedrich made in 1818. [2] It depicts a man standing upon a rocky precipice with his back to the viewer; he is gazing out on a landscape covered in a thick sea of fog through which other ridges, trees, and mountains pierce, which stretches out into the distance indefinitely.

Nicolaas Johannes Roosenboom (23 August 1805 – 1 March 1880), was a Dutch painter, etcher, lithographer, watercolorist, and illustrator who was specialised in landscape art. [1] He painted various types of landscapes but was mainly known for his winter landscapes. [2] Roosenboom's work is situated in the Dutch Romantic movement.
In addition he used drawing, linocut and etching. Kravchenko also produced notable cycles of non-illustrative prints, for example the lyrical, intimate series Italy (mixed media, 1925–6) and Paris (mixed media, 1926; both in Moscow, State Tretyakov Gallery). His painting is very different in tone and mood.
