Portree Sheriff Court is a judicial building in Somerled Square in Portree on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The building, which continues to be used as a courthouse, is a Category C listed building .
Portree (/ p ɔːr ˈ t r iː /; Scottish Gaelic: Port Rìgh, pronounced [pʰɔrˠʃt̪ˈɾiː]) is the capital [2] and largest town of the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. [3] It is a civil parish and lies within the Highland council area , around 74 miles (119 km) from its administrative centre of Inverness .
Trotternish (Scottish Gaelic: Tròndairnis) [2] is the northernmost peninsula of the Isle of Skye in Scotland, spanning in length from Portree to Rubha Hunish. The Trotternish escarpment runs almost the full length of the peninsula, some 30 kilometres (20 miles), [ 3 ] and contains landmarks such as the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing .
