By 1642, the first known skating club, The Skating Club of Edinburgh, was born, and, in 1763, the first speed skating race known in any detail was held from Wisbech to Whittlesey on the Fens in England for a prize sum of 20 guineas, won by John Lamb of Wisbech. [5]

Brittany Schussler (born April 21, 1985) is a Canadian retired speed skater. [1] [2] She was a member of the national speed skating team from 2002 to 2014. [1]Schussler's best individual performance was placing sixth in the 1500 metres at the World Championships in 2008 and she is a three times bronze medallist at the National Single Distance Championships.
The 2021–22 ISU Speed Skating World Cup was a series of speed skating competitions held from November 2021 to March 2022. The series began on 12 November 2021 in Poland and ended on 13 March 2022 in Netherlands. The World Cup is organised by the ISU who also runs world cups and championships in short track speed skating and figure skating.
