Sutter Brown (September 24, 2003 – December 30, 2016) was the pet dog of Governor Jerry Brown of California and his wife, Anne Gust Brown. [1] [2] Sutter was a Pembroke Welsh corgi, [3] originally from Ketchum, Idaho. He is named after early Sacramento settler John Sutter (known for his Sutter's Mill's role in the California Gold Rush).
