Secondary School Certificate is a public exam for classes 9 and 10 separately. Class 9 exam is called SSC part-1 and class 10 exam is called SSC part-2. This exam is conducted by government boards, officially known as Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, or simply BISE.
It is the 1st year in High School, with standard 10 or class 10 as the second and final year in high school. It is also known as Matriculation and makes the students eligible for attending Pre-University Certificate course (or popularly called PUC or class 12th) which in turn will make them eligible to attend college.
