Union Township is a township in Union County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,604 at the 2020 census. [ 2 ] Part of Shikellamy State Park is in Union Township.
As of the census [4] of 2000, there were 3,313 people, 1,163 households, and 860 families residing in the township. The population density was 129.8 inhabitants per square mile (50.1/km 2 ). There were 1,242 housing units at an average density of 48.7 per square mile (18.8/km 2 ).
In the township the population was spread out, with 22.2% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 29.0% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years.
Interstate 80 crosses Union Township, with access from Exit 73 just north of Corsica. U.S. Route 322 runs south of and parallel to I-80, passing through Corsica and Roseville. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 17.6 square miles (45.7 km 2), of which 0.02 square miles (0.04 km 2), or 0.08%, are water. [4]
