Mayhem double-crosses Matt and causes Andy's death when he steals some of the masks for his newly established organization V.E.N.O.M. In the animated series, Andy is instead Matt's father who had saved the life of a tribesman who had attempted to come to Andy's aid after his plane crashed in New Guinea .
The M.A.S.K. toyline ran from 1985 to 1988, releasing four official series through those years. Each series featured vehicles with hidden gimmicks designed to represent combat-ready forms. Most vehicles came with one or two drivers, and each character had a mask that was depicted in fiction as having a certain special ability.
M.A.S.K. (an acronym for "Mobile Armored Strike Kommand") is a special task force led by Matt Trakker, who operate transforming armored vehicles in their ongoing battle against the terrorist organization V.E.N.O.M. (an acronym for Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem) with an emphasis on superpowered helmets (called "masks") worn by the characters of both factions.
The character was packaged as 'Zodak' in the contemporary toy line and his appearance was significantly altered- for reasons of racial diversity he was black-skinned rather than Caucasian, and had a somewhat tribal appearance, with white tribal markings on his arms. He wielded a staff, unlike the original Zodac who carried a laser gun.
The toy line aims to support little ones through different developmental stages, from 3 months to 3+ years, and feature songs, characters and themes from Accurso's Songs for Littles YouTube channel.
