Interstate 135 runs north-south along the eastern edge of the neighborhood, accessible via interchanges at 1st Street, U.S. 54, and Lincoln Street. [2] [7] Wichita Transit offers bus service in The Hyde on its 21, 24, 28, and 29 routes. [14] The Douglas route of the free Q-Line trolley also services the neighborhood. [15]
From South Haven to Wichita it closely parallels Interstate 35, which is also known as the Kansas Turnpike in that area. After South Haven, the only town of any significance along US 81 until Wichita is Wellington, which is just west of the Turnpike along U.S. Route 160. US-81 concurrent with I-135 and K-15. At Wichita, US-81 joins Interstate 135.
