Band of Joy is English rock singer Robert Plant's ninth solo album and the first with his new backing group, the Band of Joy. [ 1 ] [ 3 ] It was released on 13 September 2010 in the UK and 14 September in the US.
Band of Joy was originally formed in 1966 in West Bromwich, near Birmingham, England, by Chris Brown (keyboards), Vernon Pereira (guitar), [3] and singer Robert Plant.A third incarnation of the band, including Plant's friend John Bonham lasted from 1967 to mid-1968.

Plant's eleventh solo album, Carry Fire, was released on 13 October 2017 and was the second studio album to be supported by his band the Sensational Space Shifters. [ 86 ] [ 87 ] [ 88 ] In 2018, Plant received the AMA Lifetime Achievement Award at the UK Americana Honors & Awards . [ 89 ]
In July 2010, Robert Plant toured the United States with Band of Joy (reprising the name of his band in the 1960s), with Griffin as a backing vocalist and singer-guitarist Buddy Miller, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Darrell Scott, bassist-vocalist Byron House, and drummer-percussionist-vocalist Marco Giovino.
A recording of the song by Robert Plant (from his 2010 album Band of Joy) was used as the theme song for the TV series Boss. [1] Other artists as Uncle Tupelo, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Michael Weston King The Good Sons and Beast made other versions. An alternative version is entitled "Satan, We're Gonna Tear your Kingdom Down". [citation needed]
