KGF: Chapter 2 is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language period action film [19] written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under his Hombale Films banner. It serves as the direct sequel to KGF: Chapter 1 (2018), as well as the second installment in the KGF franchise .

Prashanth Neelakantapuram(yadav) (born 4 June 1980), popularly known as Prashanth Neel, is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Telugu and Kannada cinema. He debuted with the Kannada action-thriller Ugramm (2014) and later directed the KGF trilogy (2018–present), whose second part became the highest-grossing Kannada film of all-time.
On the first day of its release, KGF: Chapter 1 collected ₹ 25 crore (equivalent to ₹ 33 crore or US$3.9 million in 2023) worldwide, [99] which was the highest opening in the Kannada cinema.
