PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur was the third Indian Institute of Technology, established on 24 January 2005 by the Ministry of Education (India) under Madhya Pradesh Society Registration Act 1973. The foundation stone of the Institute was laid by Late Shri Arjun Singh, the then-Minister of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on 7 February 2005.
The university was established on 18 September 1998 as the International Institute of Information Technology, with its campus at International Tech Park.Professor Sadagopan, who had earlier served at IIT Kanpur and IIM Bangalore became its founding Director.
