Manor (/ ˈ m eɪ n ər / MAY-nər) is a city in Travis County, Texas, United States. Manor is located 12 miles northeast of Austin and is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area . The population was 13,652 at the 2020 census.
The district serves much of Manor, as well as a wide section of northeastern Austin and a small portion of Pflugerville. Manor Downs was a horse racetrack located outside Manor, Texas, United States. It was Texas' oldest pari-mutuel horse racetrack. Live racing in the spring featured both quarter horse and thoroughbred racing.
As the need for commercial air service became clear in the 1920s, the 1928 Austin city plan called for the establishment of a municipal airport. Austin voters supported a bond election to fund the airport (among other projects) later in 1928. The airport was constructed a few miles northeast of downtown, on what was then the edge of the city.
A post office was established at Cele in 1896 and remained in operation until 1902, with an interruption in 1899. John Pitts Johns served as the postmaster.
