Tamil Nadu Cement Corporation Limited (TANCEM) is a state-government undertaking of Government of Tamil Nadu located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. [1] It produces cement, AC sheets, hollow blocks, concrete and other building materials.
Mysore Cements Limited (also known as Diamond Cement) is one of major producers of Cement in south India since its establishment in 1958 – 59 by Karnataka-based industrialist Sarangapani Mudaliar and by collaboration of Kaisers USA as a Public Limited Company [3] The company produced its major output of 1 ton cement with the investment of about 20 million Rupees, in 1962.
Malabar Cements Limited is an Indian cement company. It is among the largest public sector cement production undertakings. It is fully owned by the Government of Kerala and is the only major integrated cement plant in the State. [1] The total installed capacity of MCL is 6.2 lakh tons.
Star Cement's manufacturing plants are located in Khliehriat and Guwahati. [4] The company has occupied more than 500 to 1,000 hectares of land in Jaintia Hills district . [ 5 ] It obtains coal from the local market for fuel at a price of 8,000 rupees per tonne. [ 6 ]
It has seven integrated cement plants in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, one in Rajasthan (through its subsidiary, Trinetra Cement Ltd) and two grinding units, one each in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra with a capacity of 15.6 million tonnes per annum. Sankar Cement, Coramandel Cement and Raasi Gold are the brands owned by India Cements.
