Simba [1] [2] is a fictional character and the main protagonist of Disney's The Lion King franchise.First appearing as a lion cub in The Lion King (1994), the character flees his homeland when his father, King Mufasa, is killed by his treacherous uncle, Scar, with his uncle additionally deceiving him into believing he was the reason for his father's death.

However, Mufasa's envious younger brother, Scar, covets the throne and devises a scheme to eliminate both Mufasa and Simba. Scar lures Simba into a gorge and orchestrates a wildebeest stampede, knowing Mufasa will risk his life to save his son. [4] After rescuing Simba, Mufasa is swept into the stampede and struggles to escape.
Deceiving Simba that he is to blame for Mufasa's death, Scar advises the prince to run away and never return, then orders the hyenas to kill him. Scar returns to Pride Rock and tells the pride that Mufasa and Simba died in the stampede, before becoming king and allowing the hyenas into the Pride Lands. Unbeknownst to Scar, Simba escapes the hyenas.
The film opens with Mufasa's voice explaining that everyone is connected in the great circle of life. A montage of animals and a few clips from Symbiosis open to the song, Circle of Life. The focus of the main story is on Simba. He decided to show Timon and Pumbaa how another creature (man) is similarly forgetting how everyone is connected.
