Daffy Duck is an animated cartoon character created by animators Tex Avery and Bob Clampett for Leon Schlesinger Productions.Styled as an anthropomorphic black duck, he has appeared in cartoon series such as Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, in which he is usually depicted as a foil for either Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig or Speedy Gonzales. Despite Daffy's attempts to inquire about the duckling's troubles, he is met with dismissive replies. Even the arrival of a hunter fails to deter the duckling's curt responses. As the hunter turns his attention to Daffy, the two engage in a familiar chase, with Daffy occasionally addressing the audience about missing elements in the scene.
Amidst this chaos, Daffy Duck sings "Don't Sweetheart Me" by Lawrence Welk. Elmer's antics continue as he tries to shoot Daffy, but he complains that he is now henpecked due to being forced into marriage and becoming the father of many ducklings, including a two-headed one, the last time he was shot. He then traps Elmer in his own hat.
Doofenshmirtz in the show is a bumbling, dimwitted evil genius. His goal throughout most of the show is to take over the "entire tri-state area". [8]A typical episode features Doofenshmirtz hatching an evil scheme or invention that he often links to a "back story" from his youth in the fictional village of Gimmelshtump, Drusselstein.
The cartoon's title is a play on The Hucksters, a satirical novel about the advertising business that was made into a 1947 live-action film starring Clark Gable. "Eagle Hand Laundry", the business supposedly sponsoring Daffy's radio show, was at the time the name of an actual hand laundry in Brooklyn.
