The 12081 / 12082 Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Central Jan Shatabdi Express is a Jan Shatabdi Express train belonging to Trivandrum Division of Southern Railway zone of Indian Railways that runs between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Kannur in Kerala state of India.
This train is operated by Indian Railways, connecting Mangaluru Ctrl, Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur Junction, Thrissur, Ernakulam Junction, Alappuzha, Kollam Junction and Thiruvananthapuram Central. It is the second Vande Bharat Express train allocated to Kerala. It is currently operated with train numbers 20631/20632. [6] [7] [8]
All trains including the Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express and Kochuveli Garib Rath stop at Kannur. Six daily trains and around 15 weekly or bi-weekly trains connect Kannur to the capital Thiruvananthapuram. The train (Train No: 49/50) was initially run between Cochin and Shoranur.The train was later extended to Trivandrum and Mangalore Central on both sides. In 2012 the train was again extended to Nagarcoil [1] and in July of 2024 the Parashuram Express was extended once more to Kanyakumari.
