Rocinha (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʁɔˈsĩɲɐ], lit. ' little farm ' ) is a favela in Brazil , located in Rio de Janeiro 's South Zone between the districts of São Conrado and Gávea . Rocinha is built on a steep hillside overlooking Rio de Janeiro, and is located about one kilometre from a nearby beach.
There are two viewpoints in this hike before reaching the final destination of the peak. From the first, you will be able to see Rocinha, which is the largest favela in Latin America, and a clear view of Pedra da Gávea. Rocinha is the largest hill favela in Rio de Janeiro (as well as in Brazil and the second largest slum and shanty town in Latin America). Although Favelas are found in urban areas throughout Brazil, many of the more famous ones exist in Rio.
