Warriors Orochi (無双OROCHI, Musō Orochi) is a hack and slash video game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, developed by Koei and Omega Force.It is a crossover of two of Koei's popular video game series, Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors (specifically Dynasty Warriors 5 and Samurai Warriors 2) and the first title in the Warriors Orochi series.
Like other entries in the Dynasty Warriors series, Dynasty Warriors: Origins is based on the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. [3] According to Producer Tomohiko Sho, however, Origins differs from previous titles in that it only covers the first half of the novel while being more thorough in telling the story, which in turn is responsible for the new naming scheme.
An updated version, Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate (Musō Orochi 2: Ultimate (無双OROCHI 2 Ultimate, Musō Orochi Tsū Ultimate)), was released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in 2013 with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports released in 2014. The four versions were also released in North America and Europe in 2014.
